DaShawn Gomez

DaShawn Gomez, 6’2″, 180, point guard, 1st team all-Foothill Conference player as a freshman in 2010-11 has decided to return to Antelope Valley College.  The “qualifier” was offer two scholarships;  Idaho University and University of Chicago but decide to pass on these offers.

In 2010-11, Gomez scored 9.1 points per game, led the team in assists with 127.  Gomez is like a “coach on the floor” and is very excited about about the returning players and new players at AVC.  His goal this year is to lead AVC to a Foothill Conference championship, winning the State tournament, and being named as the JUCO player of the year in California..  Stretch goals!

If the old saying hold true this year in Cal JUCO basketball,  “The team will go as far as the guards will take them,”  AVC’s chances this year are bright.

September 16, 2011  DaShawn verbally committed to Iona University.
