Miles Wise, 6’1″, 185, Guard, Sophomore

Miles Wise, 6’1″, 185 may be a player this year that could be a key part of AVC team’s success.

“I expect Miles to be much improved this year.” “He could be a big key to our success.” “He needs the playing time and he should really blossom,” said Head Coach John Taylor.
Miles broke his wrist during his first year with Antelope Valley in 2015-16 and had to medical red shirt with the team. Always a great student, he was disappointed of course but decided to take advantage of the situation as much as possible.  He worked hard on his academics, spent time in the weight room, and learned the AVC system.
In his second year(2016-17) at AVC, he played behind two experience point guards but as AVC headed toward the State Tournament, his potential began to show. I expect Miles to step up from playing like a talented high schooler to taking over on the floor like the man he has become. Lets see if I am right. If so, his teammates will be thanking him all season long for getting the ball to them at the right time at the right place.

Miles Wise started all four games at the point guard position and led the team to 3-1 record in the 2017 JUCO Shootout.  Great slashing into the middle and passing to his teammate.  He has been invited to the Las Vegas Elite 80 JUCO Invitational this coming weekend.  Well deserved.

Miles was invited to the Las Vegas Elite 80 JUCO Showcase and showed his strength driving into the middle, playing defense and setting the table with the passing.  Solid two days among the best of the best JUCO players.
