William Harold, 6’8″, 215, PF, Freshman

Will Harold3Antelope Valley College bolstered its four/five positions with another “Big” who sat out with AVC last year,  William Harold, 6’8”, 215.  Harold graduated from Locke High School 2012-13 where he competed in basketball and track and field.  A solid student,, he graduated with a 3.1 grade point average.  Harold averaged 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks as a senior at Locke HS.  He was named to the Redondo Beach All-Tournament Team and helped his team advance to the second round of the LA City Playoffs.

William was recruited to D-2 Cal State Los Angeles after HS graduation and red-shirted his freshman year at CSLA in 2013-14.  The head coach that recruited him was replaced at Cal State LA and Harold left the program.

William decided to join Antelope Valley College 2015-16 season as he has family that lives close to AVC and he was looking for stability with an elite JUCO team where he can learn to maximize his basketball skills and academics.

William Harold runs the floor extremely well, has great jumping ability and has excellent timing for shot blocking and rebounding.  A quiet serious young man that looks like he could fit very well with the AVC team.

This is a key year for Will as he needs to show the world he has the stability in his academic, basketball workouts and working well with his team.  With that in place, his considerable talent will show to the basketball recruiters.

WillHarold_thumb.jpgEvery team that ever recruited Will Harold was expecting what Antelope Valley College is seeing this summer/fall from him.  If this continues into and through the 2016-17 season…this freshman is going to be in great demand at the university level.

William has added some critical factors in the last six months that will be key to his success at the next level;

  1. Offensive/defensive intensity
  2. Buying into the system/team ethos
  3. Outstanding conditioning

Harold is running the floor like a point guard and often is rewarded with a lead pass ending with a flying dunk.  He is going to be monster of a matchup this year for teams. Welcome to the spotlight big man.
