We recently highlighted two Inglewood HS basketball players;  DaShawn Gomez received his BS degree from Iona University after starring two years at AVC and Julius Bilbrew who is a sophomore at AVC who looks to star this year and move to the next level.

Dollarhide2AVC recently had another Inglewood HS graduate walk through the door and join the basketball team.  Cory Dollarhide is known for his speed and his ability to step up in key situations like last year’s playoffs;  In the final seconds, when Inglewood senior guard Cory Dollarhide was fouled in the process of shooting a 3-pointer with 6 seconds left.  Los Al senior guard Derrick Worthy closed out on the shooter and blocked the shot, but the referees determined he also contacted Dollarhide’s arm.

Dollarhide sank all three free throws to put the Sentinels (17-11) ahead for good.Dollarhide1

Although Cory had the grades to move directly to the University level, he missed on his SAT score.  His goal to play D-1 ball and get a scholarship an ultimately play at highest level possible.  Corry wants to improve his ball handling and get stronger.

Currently Cory is a  Communications major, and after his basketball career ends, he would like to be a ports caster.

Welcome to another Inglewood player at AVC.

Cory will be red-shirting this year at AVC.  He has improved a great deal in the short time he has been here and looks to be an outstanding player in the next two years at AVC.
