Aaron Jones, 6’9″, 235, Freshman

A miracle of medicine?  The 6’9”, 235 big man is running the floor.  So what you say?  After he graduated from the Highland high school in 2011 and the best he could do was walk the floor. His knees hurt and he decided to sit out of basketball for a year to heal the sore knees.

Aaron is enigmatic.  When you see him towering out there 6’9″, 235 with his 7 foot wing span you say, “D-1 Basketball Star.”  As you get to know him a little better you notice how quiet and affable he is.  Then you find out that he has a great genetic propensity for basketball as his father played in the NBA and European Pro-basketball.

Two years later, three surgeries later is back on the floor with a big smile on his face.  Don’t get me wrong, he is still working hard to rebuild his legs to make them strong enough to handle the stress of college basketball.  A man worth watching.

A solid summer/early fall for Aaron Jones.  His knees are holding up well, legs getting stronger, upper body strength and skill sets around the basket are improving.  Becoming a impact player for AVC.
