Lawrence White, 6’4″ 200 Guard, D-1, Univeristy of California, Davis, June 2015

As a freshman, White played his way into the starting line up at the wing position in spite of fracturing the left 4th metatarsal in AAU ball last summer that required surgery.  Add to that a bout of tendinitis in both knees when he came back in the fall.  Think that was enough?  Nope.  He injured his shoulder in mid-season in a hard fall but played through all of those injury.  He averaged 7.6 ppg and shot 37% from beyond the arc.

Lawrence garnered a host of awards during his freshman year;  Honorable mention All-Conference team, Coaches Award, All-tournament team at College of the Canyons Tournament, 4.0 GPA Award and the President’s Academic List.

The best way to describe White is smooth. His ball handling is smooth, his moves into the lane are smooth, his shooting and passing with both hands are smooth. He has great vision on the court and with his length and long arms make him a beast  on the defensive end.  The coaching staff especially likes White’s basketball intelligence and leadership.

Lawrence is looking to play D-1 basketball and go as far as possible in the future.
