The young AVC team learned a big lesson in it first game of the season when the lost by one point Riverside.  “You cannot win a game when your opponent out rebounds you by 15 and when your free throw percentage was in the 40’s”.  AVC turned up the rebounding and free throw shooting in the next two games and came away with wins.

Led in their last game by Sophomore Julian Payton with 20 points and 6 rebounds and freshman Jalen Riley(Assist Machine) with 6, AVC shocked home team Ventura College.

AVC is using their depth as their freshmen mature into solid college players.  Next the San Bernardino Valley tournament…more on that later.
