Second Round Playoff’s Not Kind to 2016-17 Top State Tournament Teams From SoCal

Posted: February 26, 2018 in AVC Men's Basketball

Antelope Valley College was battling Saturday night to continue its march to play into the State Tournament for its third straight year. It was not to be as they lost to San Bernardino Valley in overtime.

Two other SoCal teams were also battling in the second round of the regional playoffs  to return to the “Big Time”, Fullerton College and East Los Angeles.  They joined Antelope Valley College by losing their second round game;

  • Allan Hancock 70 verses Fullerton 67
  • Santiago Canyons 94 verses ELA 89

San Diego City is the only SoCal team that was in last year’s state tournament along with AVC, ELA and Fullerton that is still alive to make this year’s state tournament.

Why?  More on that later.
