Moffett Earns SCIAC AOW Honors

Jan 15, 2018

LOS ANGELES – This afternoon the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the Week Eighteen Athlete of the Week honorees and Cal Lutheran’s KJ Moffett was selected as the Men’s Basketball AOW.

On Monday, Moffett scored a career-high 30 points, but the Kingsmen’s upset bid against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps came up just short, 80-72. He finished his career day by going 13-of-16 from the field.

A native of Canyon County, Calif., Moffett followed up his career day by scoring 22 points in a win against Redlands in Gilbert Arena, 93-84. He had an efficient day as he connected on 9-of-10 fields goals.

For the week, the junior guard shot a sensational 84.6-percent from the field. He averaged 26.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He totaled 52 points, nine boards, three assists and three steals during the two-game stretch.

The SCIAC Athlete of the Week series is released each Monday throughout the academic year.
