This AVC team is slowly coming together.  With four games under their belts and a 2-2 record, AVC was a under dog(7.5 points) on the road today against state #6 ranked Saddleback College.  AVC led by as much as 9 points in the second half and won the game with their free throw shooting 87.5%(12-14) and their solid defense.  AVC’s intense defense caused Saddleback to turn over the ball 23 times and AVC had 17 steals.

Jamar Kemp, 6’8″, 300, sophomore post man scored 15 points and dominated in the paint for AV, D’Mauria Jones, 6’4′, 215 put in 16 points and was a stud on both ends  of the court.  Freshman PG, Surako Folling, 6’0″, 180 had his best college game with great ball handling, 7 points, and defense.

On the negative side, AVC turned the ball over 17 times,  had weak 3 point shooting and were out rebounded by 10.  Lots of work left to be done.

The rotations are still not set for AVC.  With freshman Greg Floyd, 6’10”, 195 having a difficult start for AVC, Freshmen Angelo Solis, 6’4″, 215 and  Jalon Timmons, 6’5″, 215 are getting a shot  at playing time.
