Big Difference in Team Talent In First Day of JUCO Jamboree

Posted: September 16, 2017 in AVC Men's Basketball

Very solid attendance by University Coaches.  My estimates over 100+.

Keep in mind that some of these teams are going to get a lot better as the season wears on.  One of these teams will be Chaffey who dropped two straight games to…Mt. San Jacinto, Canyons.  Chaffey very big(7’0″ and two 6’8″ Bigs but still love to run but have problems against the press and the half court game.

San Diego City won two straight games…West Hills, El Camino…with wings and guards.  One of the better point guards I have seen in the tournament.  Very different team from last year,  but still deep and talented.

Merritt looks like they have a lot of work to do.  Two losses .

Compton looks talented, ever with recent loss of expected players, crushed Cuyamaca 92-34.  They were training to Fullerton at half time.

Fullerton is solid with 6’11” big with four 6’7″ players with solid scoring potential.  Watch out Orange Empire!

Bakersfield ended up 1-1 with win over Merritt but big loss to Southwestern.  Only showed with 9 players.

West Hill tough as usual with squeaker loss to San Diego and big win over Southwestern.

Day two on the way.
