imageOver the years I have been following AVC players who have been recruited by D-1 universities.  Even more fascinating how many of these recruits have led their team to the NCAA tournament.  We have another on this year, Lawrence White from AVC is heading with his team for the very first time to the NCAA big dance.

imageCongratulations to Head Coach Jim Les and his staff for putting together a winning team with a mix of foreign, JUCO and bright high school players.  Not an easy job with the high academic standards expected at the University of California Davis.

The UC Davis Aggies are heading to the Big Dance for the first time in school history, but earning this bid didn’t come easy. After entering the Big West tournament as the two seed, the Aggies needed a buzzer-beater in overtime to win in the semifinals. In the tournament championship, UC Davis gutted out a final possession stop to beat top-seeded UC Irvine. The Aggies have already had a chaotic March, but can they continue their wild winning ways with an upset in the NCAA tournament?
