izaha doyleDouble-Double Bigs and Defense Dominate at Victory Valley last night.  When you hold your opponents to 27.1%(16-59) shooting overall and your two big men dominate the middle on both ends, the game of basketball becomes simple.  Jailen Gill, 6’8”, 215 pounded in 23 points and pulled down 12 rebounds along with Antone “Ace” Warren, 6’10”, 265 who put in 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Looked like AVC just turned off the three ball spigot when it became clear that Victor Valley could not handle AVC’s size and defense.Acehook  Both of Victor Valley’s big men fouled out in the second half.

Charles Hall, AVC’s point guard, had a field day getting the basketball into the middle with 12 assists.  Dee Jones put in 10 points and along with the rest of the “defense brigade”  played a excellent game.

With that said, Victor Valley has lost several of their players who looked very solid in the pre-conference season.
