David Rogahn Passed Away

Posted: November 26, 2016 in AVC Men's Basketball, AVC Men's BB 2016-17

When I got the word  yesterday that Dave passes away suddenly and unexpectantly of a heart attack, I was unable to put in words the loss I felt.  Dave was one of the very first bloggers about Cal JUCO basketball along with with myself.  We stat through 1000’s of hours of JUCO basketball together. David had a great eye for talent and often was called by university scouts on his opinion about players they were looking at for scholarships.

“DR in CA” will not be physically with us at the games from now on and he will be sorely missed.  I will be thinking of him each time the National Anthem is played at the start of a JUCO basketball game.

Worked alongside Dave many times over the years and was always just amazed at how fast he could do all the stats , Had a great mind. Such a good man and sure will be missing him this season.

Thank you for posting. DR was so quiet that I doubt most fans realized his contributions. He was a friend and supporter of everyteam. I will miss him a lot!! RIP

Cant believe it,smh. He was always a knowledgeable Basketball guy. He Loved The Game. He was one of the authorities of Juco ball in CA. He was always at the Top Games of the week, so was I. He always showed me a lot of respect being a young minority coach, especially in the basketball world in SoCal. I would invite him to some of my teams summer league games and even in the summer he would be stating the game away and write bout the Juco talent on the teams. CA Juco has lost a Legend that few ever noticed but was widely respected by those that did have the pleasure of meeting him.

Dave was a lovely person and I will miss him very much. My sympathies to his family.
