AVC Team Likely to Roll with Deep Rotation

Charles Hall3AVC is very deep in talent again this year. The Marauders could regularly use all 13 players in their games.  With seven talented freshmen and six talented/experienced sophomores looking to make the team, the “starting five” could change game to game as well as the season progresses.

More and more top university teams are using the “deep rotation” to use their talent and wear out their opponents who are using a short rotation.  Key to the rotation decision of course will be the matchup’s of each game.

Compared to last year’s 25-7 Elite 8 team, AVC is a much more balanced team in size and players with the size and talent to play multiple positions.

  1. Five players who can play the PG-1
  2. Six players who can play the SG-2,
  3. Seven  players who can play the SF-3
  4. Five players who can play in the paint, PF-4…C-5,(6’10”, 6’8”, 6’8”, 6’7”, 6’5”).

Final thought, I have been thinking of the day AVC will have the talent, size and personality of the Riverside team of many years ago that won the state championshipwith two distinct teams;  one big strong “grinder” team and a up tempo “floor rocket” team who they used interchangeably depending on the opponent.  Is this the year for that team for AVC?
