imageJust noticed this article about the American Men’s and Women’s basketball teams.  It this was happening in the United States the same group of lawyers who always sue people in the US for showing a cross on their property, would be all over this.  They would be demanding that unless every other Olympic participant, fan and people who live in Rio slums had their own cruise ship, they would be sued.

The Olympic Village in Rio has received plenty of criticism for less than ideal conditions and amenities, but USA Basketball won’t have to deal with any of it.

TMZ reports “both the men’s and women’s team are staying on a 16,800 ton behemoth called the Silver Cloud — a luxury liner that features a pool, gym, cigar lounge, bar … the works!”

That sounds a lot better than the Village, where Australian center Andrew Bogut had to make his own shower curtain earlier in the week.

The ship reportedly will be located in one of Rio’s ports.

The men’s team begins its gold medal quest Saturday, Aug. 6 against China, while the women’s team begins its gold medal journey Sunday, Aug. 7 versus Senegal.
