Free-agent center Dewayne Dedmon has agreed to a two-year, $6 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs, league sources told The Vertical.

Dedmon, 26, will have a player option in the second year, sources said.

Dedmon adds some frontcourt depth to the Spurs, who will likely lose restricted free-agent center Boban Marjanovic, who signed a three-year, $21 million offer sheet with the Detroit Pistons on Thursday. The Spurs previously reached agreement on a two-year deal with big man Pau Gasol, but future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan is leaning toward retirement.

Dedmon started his NBA career with Golden State in 2013 and has also played for Philadelphia and Orlando. The 7-foot Dedmon averaged 4.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game for the Magic last season.

Dedmon has carved a niche in the league because of his defensive motor and ability to finish at the rim. He played collegiately at USC.
