A Bible Story & Shakespeare Quote About AVC’s Friday Game

imageWhen San Diego City College walks out on the floor Friday evening at Antelope Valley College, they will likely start a 7’0” at center, 6’11” at power forward and 6’8” player at wing.  AVC on the other hand will trot out players that stretch out to 6’4” at post, 6’3” at power forward and 6’2 at wing.

This obvious mismatch reminded me of historical quotes/story from Shakespeare and the Bible.  Lets start with the Bible story of David and Goliath.  Definitely fits here. AVC is  going to have to control the game’s tempo like David did with his sling and smooth rock.  No hand to hand combat with the giants.

I took the liberty to paraphrasing Shakespeare from “The Mid-Summer Nights Dream” to fit AVC’s position into this game; “Though they be but little, they are fierce.”  AVC is going to have to compensate  for their physical smallness by playing smart and asserting their dominance in using their fierce speed and shooting.

Interesting where you can find great coaching tips for playoff games. LOL

See you Friday!
