AVC catches loss on road to Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD – The Antelope Valley College men’s basketball team shot just 3-for-18 from 3-point range and was outrebounded 45-40 in a 95-74 loss to host Bakersfield College on Wednesday.

The Marauders watched as Bakersfield shot 12-for-23 from beyond the arc.

Jalen Etionne led AVC with 14 points, while Joseph Moore scored 13 off the bench and Chris Martin pitched in 10 to go along with three assists.

"Bakersfield the first half shot the lights out," AVC coach John Taylor said. "I’m not sure why, but we came out, didn’t execute. We’re going to have to get back out there. Our last few games we didn’t play well."

Taylor added the Marauders have been hurt as of late on the boards.

"We’ve been getting outrebounded again tonight and that’s been our Achilles heal," he said.
