With one undefeated team in NoCal, Feather River College and one in SoCal, Antelope Valley College, all eyes were watching the two teams for a slip.  It happened yesterday…Feather River went down to Napa Valley…79-70.  Congratulations to Feather River College on their long run in the rarified air of the undefeated.

EnteinneNow to the last undefeated team AVC.  With 11 days off, a bulls-eye on their back and playing a solid team, Victor Valley, the team I call the upset kings, it was a perfect time to for an upset.

What did the team say? NO!  AVC had one of its best games on both ends of the court since the 44 point blowout win out against Riverside.  Here is a note about the game from the Antelope Valley Press.

Marauders open tourney with victory

GLENDALE—-The Antelope Valley College men’s basket-ball team defeated VictoryValley 85-62 in the first round of the Glendale Tournament on Thursday.

“It was the first game in 11 days for the Marauders(10-0).”  “Pretty good outing for being off for almost two weeks,”  AVC coach John Taylor said. “

The team shot 52% from the field(22-56) and knocked down 8-20 3-pointers(40%) while stealing the ball a season high 13 times.

“The press really bothered them and got us going”  Taylor said.image

Jalen Etienne picked up 13 points with five steals for the Marauders, while KJ Moffet led the team with 14 points, Nevell Lenard scored 13 and Cory Dollarhide put in 12.
