JJ AVC tounament2With 10 games under his belt as a sophomore, Jason Johnson, 6’3”, 195 leads the AVC team in scoring, 17.8 points a game.  He probably leads the state on taking charges as well and his grades are solid and he is a team leader.  Jason has played predominately the shooting guard position but handles the point and the wing position when called upon.   With that said he may be ready to make a decision on where he will take this skills next year.

He received a offer from a team that has been watching him closely for several years;  Utah State University.  Additionally it JJ Tournament 3looks like 4 other teams are about ready to pull the trigger on Jason as well.  UTEP, USF, UOP, and Fullerton.  These teams were in attendance this past weekend at the Saddleback tournament to scout Jason.  I expect to see them at AVC in the near future.

Who is Jason leaning toward?  No clue.  My guess is that it will be at theJasonWeight program that provide him with the best educational experience as well as basketball exposure.

If Jason decides to make the decision now, it will give 3rd state ranked Antelope Valley College its third D-1 signee including DaShawn Gomez, Iona and Reggie Murphy, Texas Christian University.

After two years with Jason, the team who finally gets him will never be unhappy with their decision.  Great player, student and man.
